Unpage ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting the personal data of our users in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights over it.

Unpage is an online platform that builds and hosts professional websites for Malaysian businesses. Our registered business email is support@unpage.my. References to "Service" mean the Unpage platform available at unpage.my.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of the Service:

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information — name, email address, and password when you register.
  • Business information — business name, type, description, phone number, brand assets (logo, colours, images), and style preferences submitted during onboarding or site requests.
  • Payment information — billing details processed by our third-party payment provider. We do not store your full card number or CVV on our servers.
  • Communications — messages, modification requests, and attachments you send through the platform.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Log data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps.
  • Cookies — session cookies required for authentication and CSRF protection. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal data to:

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Build and deliver the website you requested.
  • Process payments and issue receipts via our third-party payment provider.
  • Communicate with you about your subscription, requests, and support queries.
  • Improve the reliability and features of the Service.
  • Comply with legal obligations under Malaysian law.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data on the following grounds:

  • Contract performance — to fulfil our agreement to build and host your website.
  • Legitimate interests — to maintain platform security and improve our Service.

5. Third-Party Services

We share limited data with trusted third parties only as necessary to operate the Service:

  • Third-party payment provider — payment processing. Your payment data is subject to their respective privacy policies.
  • Cloud hosting provider — servers located in Singapore/Malaysia used to store application data and uploaded files.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. financial records under the Companies Act 2016).

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, and restricted access controls. However, no transmission over the internet is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

8. Your Rights Under PDPA 2010

As a data subject under Malaysian law, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — request that inaccurate or incomplete data be corrected.
  • Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (this may affect your ability to use the Service).
  • Complaints — lodge a complaint with the Department of Personal Data Protection Malaysia (pdp.gov.my).

9. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies for session management and CSRF protection. These cookies expire when you close your browser or log out. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but this will prevent you from logging in.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us their data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or a prominent notice on our platform. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
